How to Find Quality CBD Products

How to find quality products in the unregulated market of CBD.

If you are in the market for CBD products, you should know that the current CBD market is unregulated. This means that while there are plenty of amazing products to choose from, there are also a handful of scam products as well. As a CBD user, you should be equipped with the necessary tools to choose a quality CBD product for you.

How Do You Know If It Is High-Quality?

Simply put, high-quality CBD is safe and effective. Additionally, it should contain the correct amount of cannabinoids and lacking any chemicals or heavy metals. If the CBD is high-quality, it should be beneficial to your health.

There are numerous factors that can indicate good quality of CBD oil. Keep in mind, your CBD oil doesn’t necessarily need to be CBD isolate, full-spectrum, or broad-spectrum; the most important factor is that it is well-produced and comes from a trustworthy source.

When choosing a CBD product, here are some points to check on.

  1. How is the CBD oil extracted? Hands down, the best CBD oils are extracted using safe solvents like supercritical CO₂. This process ensures that the extracted product does not contain any additive or additional chemicals. You will want to be sure to avoid using CBD oils that are made using chemicals such as propane, pentane, or hexane. These chemicals will leave behind dangerous contaminants. Learn more about the extraction process.
  2. Be mindful of the source. High-quality CBD is typically made from hemp. Industrial hemp is federally legal to process, manufacture, and sell in the United States. While CBD can be extracted from marijuana, hemp-derived CBD is typically considered safer and more effective.
  3. Is the product Full-Spectrum, Broad-Spectrum, or Isolate? As mentioned above, any CBD product can be high-quality. It is most important that it comes from a trusted source, is extracted using safe methods, and is tested by a lab.
  4. Does the label match the contents? This one is big. When purchasing CBD, it is important to ensure that what the label claims is true. For example, hemp-derived contains less than 0.03% THC. Your product label should clearly state the amount of THC, if any, as well as confirm that the product is hemp-derived. Additionally, you should look for a company that shares their Certificates of Analysis (COA). These documents show the batch number of a product and the amount of CBD in the product. This is a great resource in order to ensure that the product you are paying for is what you are getting.
  5. The price is right. If the price seems too good to be true, it probably is. High-quality CBD products are not inexpensive to make, therefore their prices are typically high. You don’t have to buy the most expensive product on the market in order for it to be safe and effective, but you should do your research and ensure the company you buy from is one that you want to spend your money on.
